ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

• In-depth knowledge of the professional field of dance education and/or creative practice within educational contexts.
• Knowledge of relevant discourse and contextual research which supports creative dance education.

• Communicates effectively verbally and in writing, adapting messages for diverse audiences in an inclusive and accessible way.
• Able to support and mentor individuals.
• Competent in budgeting and financial planning.

• Experience of course/programme leadership at postgraduate-level.
• Experience of teaching at postgraduate-level.
• Experience of curriculum design and/or development in higher education or professional contexts.
• Experience teaching in Higher Education, professional, or vocational settings, with evidence of practical outcomes and alignment with quality assurance standards.
• Postgraduate Degree level qualification in a relevant area or equivalent industry experience.
• Holds an accredited Teaching and Learning qualification/HEA Fellowship (or is willing to undertake).

• Builds and maintains positive relationships with prospective, current, and past students.
• Works effectively within a team and as an individual to achieve set objectives.
• Applies own practice to develop learning and assessment practice.
• Plans, prioritises, and manages resources effectively to achieve short and long-term objectives.
• Uses initiative and/or creativity to resolve problems.
• Develops partnerships with educational institutions, networks, artists, and professional organisations.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA

• Ability to apply innovative approaches in teaching, learning, and/or professional practice to support excellent teaching, pedagogy, and inclusivity.

Experience of working across different education contexts (e.g schools, HE).
• Experience of placement-based learning or partnership development.
• PhD in relevant discipline.
• Active engagement in research and/or knowledge exchange, e.g. through PhD supervision and production of high-quality scholarly and/or practice research outputs and impacts.

Contributes to advancing professional practice research or scholarly activity in own area of specialism.
