ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of community dance and/or participatory dance practice.
- Knowledge of relevant discourses and contextual research in dance education and community practice.
- In-depth Knowledge and practice in at least one of: Cunningham-based technique, Release-based technique, floorwork, or improvisation.

SKILLS
- Communicates effectively verbally and in writing, adapting messages for diverse audiences in an inclusive and accessible way.
- Ability to coordinate and manage a teaching team and external collaborators.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Postgraduate degree level qualification in a relevant area or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience of teaching in Higher Education, professional, or vocational settings.
- Project management experience, ideally within a community setting.

- Applies own practice to develop learning and assessment.
- Plans, prioritises, and manages resources effectively.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA

KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of higher education pedagogy and theories of learning.
- Knowledge of higher education quality assurance processes, with a particular focus on placements.

- Ability to apply innovative approaches in teaching, learning, and/or professional practice.
- Effective curriculum design and/or development in higher education or professional contexts.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Holds an accredited Teaching and Learning qualification / HEA Fellowship (or is willing to undertake).
- Experience of unit or module leadership in a higher education or professional context.
- Experience of placement-based learning or external partnership development.

- Contributes to advancing professional practice research or scholarly activity in own area of specialism.
- Develops partnerships with community organisations, artists, and professional networks.
