ADMISSIONS AND RECRUITMENT COORDINATOR
An exciting opportunity to be part of London Contemporary Dance School admissions team, to support the next generation of incoming students.
JOB OVERVIEW
This post holder will be responsible in supporting the administration and development of the student recruitment process primarily for postgraduate programmes but will also support undergraduate admissions. This will include organising and delivering admissions workshops and/or interviews nationally and internationally, maintaining relevant databases, and dealing with admissions enquires, whether by post, e-mail, over the phone, or in person. This post holder will support the Admissions and Registry Manger in ensuring the registry function of the school is efficient, effective, and timely, ensuring that University of the Arts (UAL) are kept informed of changes and that data is current and accurate.
Please note that this position requires the post holder to have an Enhanced DBS Check no more than three years old and/or be signed up to the DBS Annual Update Service in line with the terms our DBS Policy.

SALARY & CONTRACT TERMS
SALARY
The full-time equivalent salary for this position is £31,214 per annum, equating to £15,607 per annum for this part-time position.
Salaries are reviewed in August each year when any cost-of-living increases are made. No salary changes are made until after successful completion of a probationary period.
CONTRACT TERMS
This is a fixed-term contract, ending 31 July 2026. This is a part-time position (equivalent to 20 hours per week). These hours are inclusive of a one-hour paid lunch break each day. Your hours of work will be agreed with the line manager.
Whilst in the six-month probationary period the notice period will be two weeks. Once this period is successfully completed the post holder will be confirmed in the post and the notice period will be six weeks.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
KNOWLEDGE
- Awareness of confidentiality requirements and the need for discretion/tact.
SKILLS
- Highly developed administration skills.
- Confident user of computers and applications including Microsoft Office, Virtual Learning Environments, space/timetabling systems and databases.
- Excellent communication skills.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Educated to degree level, equivalent further education training, or relevant professional experience.

- Experience in Arts or Education Administration, preferably in a higher education context.
- Experience devising tailor-made database systems and updating them as appropriate.
- Experience working with admissions workshop procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
ADMINISTRATION
- Support the Admissions and Registry Manager to arrange the admissions workshop cycle, working around term dates and any other events.
- Process postgraduate application forms and support the Admissions and Registry Manager in processing undergraduate application forms, including the inputting and filing of all online applications and references, and arranging of interviews and admissions workshops, etc.
- Support with securing studios at The Place for all upcoming UK admissions workshops and working with the Timetable and Assessment Coordinator to ensure musicians are scheduled.
- Identify candidates who will require a Student Route visa for the duration of their studies and refer to the Admissions and Registry Manager.
- Support the Admissions and Registry Manager to set up and manage the fresher Facebook page for UG and PG who have formally accepted their offer of a place and provide preparatory information and work with the Accommodation Support Workers accordingly.
- Support the Marketing Manager with recruitment marketing activities for Postgraduate courses where needed.
- Working with the Marketing Manager to collate information for the Postgraduate Newsletters/emails.
- Manage acceptance and enrolment lists for postgraduate courses and advise Senior Management Team on projected student numbers.
- Support the Admissions and Registry Manager in planning and running of In person and Online Open days and offer holder sessions.
- Support the Admissions and Registry Manager in registration and reregistration process each term.
- Manage the Admissions email inbox.
ADMISSONS WORKSHOPS
- In collaboration with the Director of Postgraduate Courses and course leaders, arrange admissions workshops and/or interviews for the postgraduate courses including sending formal admissions workshop and/or interview invitations to candidates.
- Ensure that any reasonable adjustments required are in place for any candidate requiring them at admissions workshops or interviews.
- Support the Admissions and Registry Manager organise the undergraduate admissions workshop panels, create student ambassador rotas, issue candidate identification numbers, prepare papers and admissions workshop files.
- Support the Admissions and Registry Manager to ensure admissions workshop days run smoothly and in adherence to health and safety guidelines.
- Support the Admissions and Registry Manager to maintain concise acceptance and reserve lists.
- Arrange travel and accommodation for overseas admission workshops, and prepare paperwork for any admissions workshop panel. Direct any enquiries as necessary.
STUDENT AMBASSADORS
- Support the Admissions and Registry Manager in the recruitment of Student Ambassadors from the current student cohort including the development of application material, interview procedures, and selection criteria.
- Support the Admissions and Registry Manager with the student ambassador programme, ensuring Student Ambassadors understand their role in induction week assistance, looking after any open day guests, admissions workshop assistance, and any other responsibilities as appropriate.
- Support the Admissions and Registry Manager in organising third year undergraduate students to sit in on the undergraduate admissions workshops and ensure letters of agreement and payroll paperwork are completed according to organisational procedures.
- Supervise the Admissions Workshop Ambassadors and delegate tasks such as welcoming and directing candidates, answering questions about LCDS and directing parents/supporters to the parent information talk.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Contribute effectively to other School Office activities in times of high demand, and cover planned and unplanned absences by prioritising workload and demonstrating flexibility.
- Fulfil such other responsibilities as may, from time to time, be determined by the Head of Widening Participation and Recruitment.
- Help monitor the LCDS inbox.
