The Development Team at The Place are successfully delivering transformational change in fundraising activities in order to support The Place to achieve its unprecedented vision for a ‘world with more dance’. The work of the department is guided by a robust Business Plan, the associated objectives and KPI’s with the team working cross organisationally to identify the priorities and targets whilst constantly monitoring changes in organisational need as well opportunities across the external funding landscape.
We operate a mixed income model from statutory funders, trusts and foundations, individuals and corporates and take time to understand where the opportunities are in terms of sustainable future fundraising for The Place.

- Prioritising revenue fundraising and working strategically with members of the Executive team to raise funding for projects which align with organisational strategic priorities.
- Personalising our approach to funders and taking care of relationships.
- Sharing a culture of fundraising across the organisation and facilitating cross departmental working.
- Improving our processes and championing the use of the Spektrix database system.
- Creating and curating a targeted programme of events.
- Contributing to growing the public and sector-wide profile and visibility of The Place.
- Maximising the use of knowledge and networks.
- Managing workloads by assessing the value of opportunities.
